Multiple Universes, Parallel Realities & Time Hopping

    Deidre Madsen

Living in this day and age where there are so many obvious changes and shifts on the planet through the weather upheavals, occupy movements, continual wars throughout the globe, coupled with the emotional instability of many in the nation, it is also true that many of us are waking up to something greater within ourselves. Perhaps you, too, have had unexplained experiences with the paranormal, time travel, out of body experiences, and the like and wish there was a place to get some answers. Following is a brief story and explanation of what is called a “parallel” reality. It is my hope that this article and others on my site help you understand the strange and mysterious.

    West Side Story’s Many Sides

When I was around 12 years old, the movie premiere of the critically acclaimed theatrical production of “West Side Story” with Natalie Wood, Richard Beymer, Russ Tamblyn, and Rita Moreno, was set to air on one of the local TV stations for the very first time. (This must have been in the mid 60′s as the true USA premiere was in 1961 in New York City.) My parents wanted the whole family to sit and watch the premiere together. They were so excited, telling the five of us how much we will love this movie, how wonderful it is, and ‘we are in for a treat.’ We were planning one of our movie nights, sitting together on the dense wool carpeted floor of our living room with our snacks of chips and cookies. My parents and the household overall kept the momentum throughout the day in preparation for this major event with one exception. Me.

Earlier in the day, floods of memories and total recall that we had already viewed this film began to fuel a strange dance between my parents and myself. Strangely, as I stood there arguing with my parents this fact, I could recall the entire movie’s plot line, visuals, story and dancing routines. Never having been to New York City in my life to see the theatrical version, it was impossible for me to have known this level of detail from the film. My parents were growing angrier and angrier at my insistence and I was growing more and more irate and angry at their lack of memory at their young ages. Truly, the concept that we had not seen the film did not occur to me at the time. I only knew what was real and true in my reality to me. The simple fact that they failed to remember this ‘monumental event’ was not my concern at the age of 12. After hearing over and over the words “that’s impossible this is the world premiere” and “what is wrong with you?”, the argumentative conversation finally dwindled to me succumbing to their belief that I was completely wrong.
It is time to cease caving into the limited tribal mindset around
the paranormal world, and phenomena i.e.,
    parallel dimensional realities, time travel,
out of body experiences, remote viewing, bi-location and so on.
Years later I wondered if they thought I was going insane at that time of my life. During the movie, after settling down and ‘behaving’ once again, I heard their minced oath, “Thank Goodness you have stopped all this nonsense.” This showed me they feared something within me – perhaps a simple fear of the unknown – nonetheless I knew it was not a safe place in which to explore these deeper inner mysteries and it took several years before I came up with answers.

    Telling Time

During that same time period I had a mental block around being able to tell analog time. (Digital clocks were non-existent in everyday households.) Coincidentally, during this same period of time, after dinner Mom would clear the plates and I was made to remain at the table and tell the time on the clock, a clock with only four digits showing and carved out of a large strangely shaped lump of wood covered with tons of glossy shellac. During this ritual I was repeatedly asked to report the time in which I stammered and could not answer correctly. My inability to tell the time was a growing concern for them as well. To this day I still have difficulty looking at an analog clock and telling the time. If someone asks me “What time is it?” I freeze up and look down at my watch and if its analog I take this long pause before giving the time, and sometimes I am incorrect.

    Relative Questions

What has had me wondering over the years, are two things:
    1. Why couldn’t I tell the time correctly, what was the block there?
    2. How could I have known about West Side Story before viewing it on TV?
    These questions created more questions:
    1. Could it be that I was connecting with a parallel universe or reality?
    2. Is it possible that I was not wrong?
    3. Is it possible that I could not accurately “tell time” because time and space are relative and somehow I knew that?
    Zone of Consciousness

Regarding time in and of itself (which by the way, is an interesting concept – time in and of itself), could time be relative to which you-niverse we choose to exist in at one time singularity? Is there such a thing as a time singularity or present-tense? Let alone a past-tense or future-tense? And if so, is it a type of zone of consciousness, i.e., a time zone of consciousness, that we choose to accept as our reality in the moment? And if no one else is there in the forest when a tree falls, does it make a sound? An illuminating discourse is presented through Mr. Michael Lockwood entitled The Labyrinth of Time: Introducing the Universe where he states:
“When looking up the subject of multiple universes I came upon the explanation: Multiverse: The multiverse [or meta-universe (metaverse)] is the hypothetical set of multiple possible universes (including our universe) that together comprise all of reality. The different universes within the multiverse are sometimes called parallel universes. The structure of the multiverse, the nature of each universe within it and the relationship between the various constituent universes, depend on the specific multiverse hypothesis considered.” SOURCE: WIKIPEDIA
Parallel universes really do exist, according to a mathematical discovery by Oxford scientists that sweeps away one of the key objections to the mind boggling and controversial idea. Science fiction looks closer to becoming science fact, reports Roger Highfield.

The work has wider implications since the idea of parallel universes sidesteps one of the key problems with time travel. Ever since it was given serious lab cred in 1949 by the great logician Kurt Gödel, many eminent physicists have argued against time travel because it undermines ideas of cause and effect to create paradoxes: a time traveller could go back to kill his grandfather so that he is never born in the first place.

But the existence of parallel worlds offers a way around these troublesome paradoxes, according to David Deutsch of Oxford University (whom I would love to meet one day), a highly respected proponent of quantum theory, the deeply mathematical, successful and baffling theory of the atomic world.

He argues that time travel shifts between different branches of reality, basing his claim on parallel universes, the so-called “many-worlds” formulation of quantum theory.

The new work bolsters his claim that quantum theory does not forbid time travel. “It does sidestep it. You go into another universe,” he said yesterday, though he admits that there is still a way to go to find schemes to manipulate space and time in a way that makes time hops possible.**

“Many sci-fi authors suggested time travel paradoxes would be solved by parallel universes but in my work, that conclusion is deduced from quantum theory itself”, Dr Deutsch said, referring to his work on many worlds.

The mathematical idea of parallel worlds was first glimpsed by the great quantum pioneer, Erwin Schrodinger, but actually published in 1957 by Hugh Everett III, when wrestling with the problem of what actually happens when an observation is made of something of interest – such as an electron or an atom – with the intention of measuring its position or its speed.

In the traditional brand of quantum mechanics, a mathematical object called a wave function, which contains all possible outcomes of a measurement experiment, “collapses” to give a single real outcome.

“… the universe is constantly and infinitely splitting,
so that no collapse takes place.”

Everett came up with a more audacious interpretation: the universe is constantly and infinitely splitting, so that no collapse takes place. Every possible outcome of an experimental measurement occurs, each one in a parallel universe.

If one accepts Everett’s interpretation, our universe is embedded in an infinitely larger and more complex structure called the multiverse, which as a good approximation can be regarded as an ever-multiplying mass of parallel universes.

Every time there is an event at the quantum level – a radioactive atom decaying, for example, or a particle of light impinging on your retina – the universe is supposed to “split” into different universes.

A motorist who has a near miss, for instance, might feel relieved at his lucky escape. But in a parallel universe, another version of the same driver will have been killed. Yet another universe will see the motorist recover after treatment in hospital. The number of alternative scenarios is endless.

In this way, the “many worlds” interpretation of quantum mechanics allows a time traveller to alter the past without producing problems such as the notorious grandfather paradox.

“…there is infinite structure in what appears to be chaos.”

But the “many worlds” idea has been attacked, with one theoretician joking that it is “cheap on assumptions but expensive on universes” and others that it is “repugnant to common sense.” ["Common sense"[?] or perhaps “Divine Sense” as in, “there is infinite structure in what appears to be chaos” i.e., chaos does not exist, as there is only Z integer (or the Z – ion (particle) … to me, this is the most simplest and most elegant of all explanations. This, in my opinion, fits with Max Tegmark’s explanation of the law of parsimony, or Occam’s Razor as it relates to multiple universes.]

Now new research confirms Prof Deutsch’s ideas and suggests that Dr Everett, who was a Phd student at Princeton University when he came up with the theory, was on the right track.

Commenting in New Scientist magazine, Prof. Andy Albrecht, a physicist at the University of California, Davis, said of the link between probability and many worlds: “This work will go down as one of the most important developments in the history of science.”

Quantum mechanics describes the strange things that happen in the subatomic world – such as the way photons and electrons behave both as particles and waves. By one interpretation, nothing at the subatomic scale can really be said to exist until it is observed.

Until then, particles occupy nebulous “superposition” states, in which they can have simultaneous “up” and “down” spins, or appear to be in different places at the same time.

According to quantum mechanics, unobserved particles are described by “wave functions” representing a set of multiple “probable” states. When an observer makes a measurement, the particle then settles down into one of these multiple options.

But the many worlds idea offers an alternative view. Dr Deutsch showed mathematically that the bush-like branching structure created by the universe splitting into parallel versions of itself can explain the probabilistic nature of quantum outcomes. This work was attacked but it has now had rigorous confirmation by David Wallace and Simon Saunders, also at Oxford.

Dr Saunders, who presented the work with Wallace at the Many Worlds at 50 conference at the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics in Waterloo, Canada, told New Scientist: “We’ve cleared up the obscurities and come up with a pretty clear verdict that Everett works. It’s a dramatic turnaround and it means that people now have to discuss Everett seriously.”

Dr Deutsch added that the work addresses a three-century-old problem with the idea of probability itself, described by one philosopher, Prof David Papineau, as a scandal. “We didn’t really know what probability means,” said Dr Deutsch.

There’s a convention that it’s rational to treat it for most purposes as if we knew it was going to happen even though we actually know it need not. But this does not capture the reality, not least the 0.1 per cent chance something will not happen.

“So,” said Dr Deutsch, “the problems of probability, which were until recently considered the principal objection to the otherwise extremely elegant theory of Everett (which removes every element of mysticism and double-talk that have crept into quantum theory over the decades) have now turned into its principal selling point.” SOURCE: TELEGRAPH UK

    Occam’s Razor

Critics argue that to postulate usually unobservable universes just to explain our universe seems contrary to Occam’s razor.

    Tegmark answers:
“A skeptic worries about all the information necessary to specify all those unseen worlds. But an entire ensemble is often much simpler than one of its members. This principle can be stated more formally using the notion of algorithmic information content. The algorithmic information content in a number is, roughly speaking, the length of the shortest computer program that will produce that number as output. For example, consider the set of all integers. Which is simpler, the whole set or just one number? Naively, you might think that a single number is simpler, but the entire set can be generated by quite a trivial computer program, whereas a single number can be hugely long. Therefore, the whole set is actually simpler. Similarly, the set of all solutions to Einstein’s field equations is simpler than a specific solution. The former is described by a few equations, whereas the latter requires the specification of vast amounts of initial data on some hypersurface. The lesson is that complexity increases when we restrict our attention to one particular element in an ensemble, thereby losing the symmetry and simplicity that were inherent in the totality of all the elements taken together. In this sense, the higher-level multiverses are simpler. Going from our universe to the Level I multiverse eliminates the need to specify initial conditions, upgrading to Level II eliminates the need to specify physical constants, and the Level IV multiverse eliminates the need to specify anything at all.” He continues “A common feature of all four multiverse levels is that the simplest and arguably most elegant theory involves parallel universes by default. To deny the existence of those universes, one needs to complicate the theory by adding experimentally unsupported processes and ad hoc postulates: finite space, wave function collapse and ontological asymmetry. Our judgment therefore comes down to which we find more wasteful and inelegant: many worlds or many words. Perhaps we will gradually get used to the weird ways of our cosmos and find its strangeness to be part of its charm.” SOURCE: WIKIPEDIA
Relating to West Side Story… And Time

With this said, then I indeed went through to a parallel universe or dimensional space/time reality that had already happened a mere few minutes, hours, days or weeks prior to the space/time event of the world premiere event of our family watching West Side Story. In bringing back in to my current reality the full memory recall of the different reality I was attempting to understand the underpinnings of each reality I found myself connecting to and living within.

Clearly my experience be’tween both worlds (just two of multiversal probabilities) left me with many more questions for many years afterwards. Questions I am gaining insight and answers to through my spiritual quest and path. What my family ended up concluding about their reality-challenged daughter remains a mystery. Perhaps they have had similar experiences and have thought about the West Side Story experience.

… in every equation you will discover one constant
red [blood - coding] thread and that is YOU.

    In Closing

The reciprocal function, exhibiting hyperbolic growth.
Perhaps a way to look at how to traverse through realities is by looking at finite-time singularity.

**A FINITE-TIME SINGULARITY occurs when one input variable is time, and an output variable increases towards infinite at a finite time. These are important inkinematics and PDEs – infinites do not occur physically, but the behavior near the singularity is often of interest. Mathematically the simplest finite-time singularities are power laws for various exponents, x^{-\alpha}, of which the simplest is hyperbolic growth, where the exponent is (negative) 1: x^{-1}. More precisely, in order to get a singularity at positive time as time advances (so the output grows to infinity), one instead uses (t_0-t)^{-\alpha}(using t for time, reversing direction to -t so time increases to infinity, and shifting the singularity forward from 0 to a fixed time t_0).

By looking at the diagram on the right, it reminds me of how we make a plus sign … +, by drawing a vertical line and then a horizontal line through the middle. What if that is incorrect and we must instead be drawing two 90° angles that may/may not intersect in the middle? What if that is the correct pattern and the shift comes in the center / zeropoint where we stop time/space and push it outward infinitely until we shift the zero point “output” to where we wish for it to be. Isn’t this the same thing that is written in the above example? If so then perhaps in addition to manifesting our wildest dreams isn’t it quite possible that we can also find the solution to Dr. Deutsch’s quest to discover how to hop time?

Whether you believe in multiple universes, realities, realms, or dimensional options … in every equation you will discover one constant red [blood-coding] thread and that is YOU. And it is the discovery of YOU which can make use of this information to further your own accelerated change towards super-intelligence and allow the true Holy Grail to occur within your mind as it fires off new neural net pathways creating an Arc of the Covenant from within. Achieving this space while remaining calm, grounded and centered throughout your spiritual path and life creations, in the end, is where we must gain our ground … for when we let go and let God … the how, when and where manifests themselves to perfection.

Excerpts from The Nature of Personal Reality - Part1a

You cannot escape your own attitudes, for they will form the nature of what you see. Quite literally you see what you want to see; and you see your own thoughts and emotional attitudes materialized in physical form. If changes are to occur, they must be mental and psychic changes. These will be reflected in your environment. Negative, distrustful, fearful, or degrading attitudes toward anyone work against the self.

Telepathy operates constantly. If you continually expect an individual to behave in a particular manner, then you are constantly sending him telepathic suggestions that he will do so. Each individual reacts to suggestion. According to the specific conditions existing at the time, such an individual will to some extent or another act according to the mass suggestions he receives.

These mass suggestions include not only those given to him by others, both verbally and telepathically, but also those he has given to himself, both in the waking and dream states. If an individual is in a state of despondency, this is because he has already become prey to negative suggestions of his own and others...

There are obviously ways in which you mold your own conditions, protect yourself from your own negative suggestions and those of others. You must learn to erase a negative thought or picture by replacing it with its opposite.
What you see in others is the materialization-the projection of what you think you are-not necessarily, however, of what you are. For example, if others seem deceitful to you, it is because you deceive yourself, and then project this outward upon others.

...If an individual sees only evil and desolation in the physical world, it is because he is obsessed with evil and desolation and projects them outward, and closes his eyes to all else. If you want to know what you think of yourself, then ask yourself what you think of others, and you will find your answer.

...and all of this without his realizing his basic concept of himself, and without recognizing that he projects his feared weaknesses outward unto others.
True self-knowledge is indispensable for health or vitality. The recognition of the truth about the self simply means that you must first discover what you think about yourself, subconsciously. If it is a good image, build upon it. If it is a poor one, recognize it as only the opinion you have held of yourself and not as an absolute state.

...remember to recognize resentment when he feels it, and then to realize that resentment can be dismissed. The initial recognition must be made, however. Then have him imagine plucking out the resentment by the roots and replacing it with a positive feeling. But he must imagine the plucking-out process.
This is the difference between repression and positive action. In repression the resentment is shoved beneath and ignored. With our method it is recognized, imaginatively plucked out as being undesirable, and replaced by the thought of peace and constructive energy.

If desire for health leads instead to an emphasis upon symptoms to be overcome, you would be better off to avoid all thoughts of health or illness and concentrate in other directions, such as work. Such an emphasis can lead to a focus upon obstacles that stand in the way, and this reinforces the negative condition.

People react to negative suggestions only when their own frame of mind is negative. Then we close ourselves off from the constructive energies we need.
You are a multidimensional personality, and within you lies all the knowledge about yourself, your challenges and problems, that you will ever need to know. Others can help you in their own way... But my mission is to remind you of the incredible power within your own being, and to encourage you to recognize and use it.

...Ideas have an electromagnetic reality. Beliefs are strong ideas about the nature of reality.

(later: Your thoughts have a very definite vital reality. Beliefs are thoughts reinforced by imagination and emotion concerning the nature of your reality.)
Ideas generate emotion. Like attracts like, so similar ideas group about each other and you accept those that fit in with your particular "system" of ideas.
112
Ideas represent your psychic intent. They generate emotion and imagination. These activate the interior patterns. They are the motive force of action, the means by which all interior events are exteriorized. They are energy formed and directed, formulations of interior and exterior patterns of reality. They are a part of the creative force from which all realities spring. ... Imagination and emotion are the most concentrated forms of energy that you possess as physical creatures. Any strong emotion carries within far more energy than, say, that required to send a rocket to the moon.

You are a sender and a receiver. Because ideas have an electromagnetic reality, beliefs, because of their intensity (see above) radiate strongly. Due to the organizing nature of your own psychological nature, similar beliefs congregate, and you will readily accept those with which you already agree...

Limiting ideas therefore predispose you to accept others of a similar nature. Exuberant ideas of freedom, spontaneity and joy automatically collect others of their kind also. There is a constant interplay between yourself and others in the exchange of ideas, both telepathically and on a conscious level.

This interchange follows, again, your conscious beliefs... You react only to those telepathic messages that fit in with your conscious ideas about yourself and your reality.

... the conscious mind is itself spontaneous. It enjoys playing with its own contents, so I am not here recommending a type of stern mental discipline in which you examine yourself at every moment.

Telepathic communication is constant. This is usually at an unconscious level merely because your conscious mind is in a state of becoming... As an example, if your conscious ideas are relatively positive you will react to telepathically received information of a similar nature, even if you do so on an unconscious level. ....A family... can constantly reinforce its joy, gaiety, and spontaneity by concentrating on ideas of vitality, strength and creativity; or it can let half of its energy slip away by reinforcing resentments, angers and thoughts of doubt and failure.

You make your own reality.

You get what you concentrate upon. There is no other main rule.
You will also react... to inner information at an unconscious level that is ... "collected" under the organization of your quite conscious concepts concerning existence in general, and your own in particular. So you are locked into physical situations that are corroborated by the great evidence of sense data...

Core beliefs ... strong ideas about your own existence. Many other subsidiary beliefs, that earlier seemed separate from each other, should now appear quite clearly as being offshoots of core beliefs. Once the core belief is understood to be a false one, the others will fall away

It is the core belief which is strong enough to so focus your perception that you perceive from the physical world only those events that correlate with it. It is also the strength of the core belief that draws up from the vast bank of inner knowledge only those events that seem to fit within its organization.
I did not want to imply that you make a list of specifically negative ideas, however. IT IS OF SUPREME IMPORTANCE THAT YOU RECOGNIZE THE EXISTENCE OF JOYFUL BELIEFS, AND TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION THOSE ELEMENTS OF YOUR OWN EXPERIENCE WITH WHICH YOU HAVE HAD SUCCESS.

I WANT YOU TO CAPTURE (compare p. 88) THAT FEELING OF ACCOMPLISHMENT, AND TO TRANSLATE OR TRANSFER IT, TO AREAS IN WHICH YOU HAVE HAD DIFFICULTY. BUT YOU MUST REMEMBER THAT THE IDEAS EXIST FIRST AND THE EXPERIENCE PHYSICALLY FOLLOWS.

...here you become involved with one of the most meaningful aspects of the nature of personal reality, as you test your thoughts against what seems to be. There may be a time before you learn how to change your thoughts effectively, but you are engaged in a basic meaningful endeavor.

The truth is then that you form your reality directly. You react consciously and unconsciously to your beliefs. You collect from the physical universe, and the interior one, data that seems to correlate with your beliefs.

Believe, then, that you are a being unlimited by nature, born into flesh to materialize as best you can the great joy and spontaneity of your nature.
Core beliefs are those about which you build your life. You are consciously aware of these...

Data that seems unrelated to this core belief is then not assimilated but thrown into the corners of your mind, unused, and you are denied the value of the information. ... inactive material. This information will not be a part of the organized structure of your usual thoughts.

A core belief is invisible only when you think of it as a fact of life, and not as a belief about life...

... you must become aware of your own structures. Build them up or tear them down, but do not allow yourself to become blind to the furniture of your own mind... it will help you, in fact, if you think of your own beliefs as furniture that can be rearranged, changed, renewed, completely discarded or replaced. Your ideas are yours. They should not control you... Imagine yourself then rearranging this furniture. Images of particular pieces will come clearly to you. Ask yourself what ideas these pieces represent. See how well the tables fit together. Open up the drawers inside.

You must understand that these are not simply dead ideas, like debris, within your mind. They are psychic matter. In a sense then they are alive. They group themselves like cells, protecting their own validity and identity.
You feed them, figuratively speaking, with like ideas.

Information does not exist by itself. Connected with it is the consciousness of all those who understand it, perceive it or originate it. ... the consciousness that held, or holds, or will hold the information attracts it like a magnet... The information itself wants to move toward consciousness. It is not dead or inert. It is not something you grab for, it is also something that wants to be grabbed, and so it gravitates to those who seek it.

Your consciousness attracts the consciousness that is already connected with the material.

... the emergence of the inner self, through art, into the physical universe.
Imagination is one of the motivating agencies that helps transform your beliefs into physical experience. It is vital therefore that you understand the interrelationship between ideas and imagination. In order to dislodge unsuitable beliefs and establish new ones, you must learn to use your imagination to move concepts in and out of your mind. The proper use of imagination can then propel ideas in the directions you desire.

Largely, but not completely, your imagination follows your beliefs, as do your emotions. One of the most hampering beliefs of all is the idea that the clues to current behavior are buried and usually inaccessible. This belief itself closes to you the contents of your own conscious mind and prevents you from looking there for the answers that are available.

[to Rob:] Now at various times you made those conscious choices. They escaped your notice but they existed as conscious points of awareness and choice.
You should ...become... aware, and consciously and alertly aware, of the beneficial ideas and their importance in your lives.

IT IS VITAL THAT YOU REALIZE YOU ARE WORKING WITH BELIEFS IN YOUR MIND - THAT THE REAL WORK IS DONE THERE IN THE MIND - AND NOT LOOK FOR IMMEDIATE PHYSICAL RESULTS.

THEY WILL FOLLOW AS SURELY AND CERTAINLY AS THE "BAD" RESULTS FOLLOWED, AND THIS MUST BE A BELIEF: THAT THE GOOD RESULTS WILL COME. BUT THE REAL WORK IS DONE IN THE MIND. IF YOU DO THE WORK THEN YOU CAN REST ASSURED OF THE RESULTS, BUT YOU MUST NOT CHECK CONSTANTLY FOR THEM.

Your emotions and your imagination both follow your belief. When the belief vanishes then the same emotional context is no longer entertained, and your imagination turns in other directions.

Quite deliberately you use your conscious mind playfully,....game... in which for a time you completely ignore what seems to be in physical terms and "pretend" that what you really want is real.

If you are poor, you purposely pretend that you have all you need financially. Imagine how you will spend your money. If you are ill, imagine playfully that you are cured. See yourself doing what you would do. If you cannot communicate with others, imagine yourself doing so easily.

...As it took a while for the unsatisfactory beliefs to become materialized, so it may be a time before you see physical results; but the new ideas will take growth and change your experience as certainly as the old ones did. The process of imagining will also bring you face to face with other subsidiary ideas that may momentarily bring you up short. you may see where you held two quite conflicting ideas simultaneously, and with equal vigor. In such a case, you stalemated yourself... so you will try to be healthy and not healthy at the same time, or successful and not successful...

Feeling and conscious thought... actually go together but your conscious thinking largely determines your emotions, and not the other way round. Your beliefs generate the appropriate emotion that is implied. A long period of inner depression does not just come upon you. Your emotions do not betray you. Instead, over a period of time you have been consciously entertaining negative beliefs that then generated the strong feelings of despondency. As you think so you feel, and not the other way around.

... The belief in illness itself depends upon a belief in human unworthiness, guilt and imperfection, for example.

The mind does not just hold active beliefs. It contains many others in a passive state. They lie latent, ready to be focused upon and used; any of them can be brought to the fore when a conscious thought acts as a stimulus (this is why you should do the suggestions thing).

If you are focusing upon ideas of..., illness or lack,..., your conscious mind also holds latently concepts of health, vigor and abundance. If you divert your thoughts from the negative ideas to the positive ones, then your concentration will begin to alter the balance. The vast reservoir of energy and potential within you is called into action under the leadership of your conscious mind.

...your consciousness expands as you use it. You become "more" conscious as you exercise these (reasoning) faculties.

Conscious mind is a vehicle for the imagination in many ways. The greater its knowledge the further the reach of imagination...

The conscious mind is a vehicle for the expression of the soul in corporeal terms. It is your method of assessing temporal experience according to the beliefs that it holds about the nature of reality. It automatically causes the body to react in certain ways. I cannot say this often enough: Your beliefs follow your reality, your body and its condition, your personal relationships, your environment, and en masse your civilization and world... The conscious mind gives its orders and the inner self carries them out.

All of the powers of your inner self are set into activation as a result of your conscious beliefs. You have lost a sense of responsibility for your conscious thoughts because you have been taught that it is not what forms your life. You have been taught that regardless of your beliefs your are terrorized by unconscious conditioning. And as long as you hold that conscious belief you will experience it as reality.

Some of your beliefs originated in your childhood, but you are not at their mercy unless you believe that you are.
